Course Summary
The Level 2 Understanding the Care and Management of Diabetes Certificate aims to develop your knowledge and understanding of the care and management of diabetes. It will provide you with an understanding of the different types of diabetes, how they can occur, and increase your awareness of diabetes diagnosis and initial care. You will learn how Type 2 diabetes can be delayed with lifestyle changes and about on-going care and treatment of diabetes to control blood sugar levels.

Understanding the Care and Management of Diabetes is made up of four units:
- Unit 1- Understand Diabetes
- Unit 2 - Prevention and Early Intervention of Type 2 Diabetes
- Unit 3 - Understanding the Initial Care of Diabetes
- Unit 4 - Understanding the Treatment and Management of Diabetes
There are no formal entry qualifications for the Level 2 Understanding the Care and Management of Diabetes Certificate.
This course will take you five months to complete.

If you do not qualify for funding this course will cost you £462.

This course is assessor led. You will be assessed by a qualified assessor on a monthly basis throughout the duration of the course.
Completion of this course will enable you to progress onto a Level 3 course at the college.
