Course Summary

The Level 2 Principles of the Prevention & Control of Infection in Health Care Settings Certificate is aimed at anyone who currently works in or is intending on working in any Health and Social Care setting and wants to gain an understanding in the prevention and control of infection within healthcare settings.

You will have 1-1 support from an assessor within the health and social care department. Your assessor is occupational competent and will support and work with you throughout the qualification period.

What else do I need to know?

During the course you will complete the following units:

  • Unit 01 Principles of the causes and spread of infection in health care settings
  • Unit 02 Principles of the importance of personal hygiene and health in the prevention and control of infection in health care settings
  • Unit 03 Principles of decontamination, cleaning, and waste management in health care settings
  • Unit 04 Principles of infection prevention and control in a health care setting
There are no formal entry qualifications for the Level 2 Principles of the Prevention & Control of Infection in Health Care Settings Certificate.
This course will take you five months to complete.

If you do not qualify for funding this course will cost you £462.

This course is assessor led. You will be assessed by a qualified assessor on a monthly basis throughout the duration of the course
Completion of this course will enable you to progress onto a Level 3 course at the college.
