Apprenticeships

You can apply for an apprenticeship by clicking the 'Apply for this course' button on the individual apprenticeship course information. You then will be guided through the simple application process. Please note, this stage of becoming an apprentice can be completed with or without an employer, but you will need an employer to start your apprenticeship.

Once you have applied for your apprenticeship course, you will be invited to the College for an informal initial assessment, where a member of the Apprenticeship Team will discuss your chosen apprenticeship in more detail and explain how we can support you.

I already have a job/employer – You can start an apprenticeship with your current employer and base your training around your existing job role. You need an employment contract for a minimum of 30 hours per week, though terms are becoming more flexible and apprentices working fewer hours may still be considered.

I do not have a job/employer – After deciding on the apprenticeship you’d like to study and the career you’d like to pursue, you will need to find a suitable apprenticeship job within that industry, ideally for at least 30 hours per week.

The Apprenticeship Team can provide guidance on both finding employers and the training and qualifications available.
