Adult Care Diploma Level 3 NCFE CACHE (19+)

The NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care allows you to develop detailed knowledge, skills and understanding within a relevant field and is aimed at staff that are in a position of responsibility. It combines team leading and specialist technical skills with competence in communication, problem solving and applied teamwork.

During the course, you will cover a variety of topics including:

• Effective communication in care settings
• Person-centred practice and promoting independence
• Equality, diversity, inclusion and human rights
• Health, safety and wellbeing
• Handling information and maintaining confidentiality
• Personal and professional development
• Leadership and management skills
• Specialist care and clinical skills through optional units tailored to job roles and career aspirations

There are no formal entry qualifications for the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care, although you must be employed within a health and Social care setting such as: residential homes, home support area, day services, and hospital settings.

The NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care will take you 12-18 months to complete, with flexible start dates meaning you can start at any point throughout the year. This qualification is delivered primarily through workplace-based learning and independent home study, allowing learners to develop skills and gather evidence within their own adult care setting.

Aged 19+?
If you are aged 19 years or over on the 1st day of your course, you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with your College fees. If you progress to employment you won't have to pay anything back until you’re earning £25,750 per year. Your household income isn't taken into account and there's no credit check. You may be eligible to study this course for FREE should you meet the following criteria:

• Be aged 19 or older on the 31st August at the start of the current academic year
• Do not hold a current Level 3 qualification
• Be either unemployed and receiving JSA, ESA or Universal Credit (subject to criteria), or be earning less than £26,800 (annual gross salary)

Learners are assessed through a range of workplace-based assessment methods that demonstrate competence, knowledge and understanding in an adult care setting. Assessment is carried out through the completion of a portfolio of evidence.

Assessment methods may include:

• Direct observation of practice in the workplace
• Professional discussions with an assessor
• Witness testimonies from supervisors or colleagues
• Reflective accounts and learner journals
• Written assignments and knowledge questions
• Work products and documentation generated in the workplace
• Recognition of prior learning (where appropriate)

Upon successful completion of the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care, learners may progress to higher-level qualifications, including:

• Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care

This qualification supports progression into a range of roles within the adult care sector, including:

• Lead Adult Care Worker
• Senior Care Support Worker
• Lead Personal Assistant
