NEBOSH is a National Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health. The NEBOSH National General Certificate is a qualification designed to help those with health and safety responsibilities (notably managers, supervisors and employee representatives) to carry out their duties at work more effectively and to protect the organisations for which they work.

If you are taking this course to forward your own career, the NEBOSH National General Certificate will give you invaluable knowledge, skills AND a globally respected qualification that supports your current role and your long-term career. It is relevant to every workplace; ideal for managers, supervisors, or anybody with health and safety management responsibilities and also perfect for those embarking on a health and safety career.

According to the Health and Safety Executive, workplace injuries and ill-health cost UK businesses over £15 billion per year and this qualification can help minimise workplace injuries and illness, boost employee wellbeing, demonstrate the business’s commitment to health and safety, strengthen your health and safety culture and ensure your organisation has valuable in-house health and safety expertise. Many of these are expectations within supply chains and actually help win new business or secure existing contracts.

The National General Certificate is trusted by many prestigious organisations such as Thames Water, Kier and the Football Association as well as many others.

Both assessments are marked by external examiners.

It provides the basis for progression to the NEBOSH National Diploma or NVQ route.
