Course Summary
The Futures Ignite Certificate in Progression Level 1 programme is designed to support you in your transition back into education, or into a further education environment.
You will take part in a variety of practical and confidence-building activities aimed at helping you to develop the skills to break down barriers and allow you to re-engage with, and progress in, a supported education environment.
What else do I need to know?
The Futures Ignite Certificate in Progression Level 1 programme will focus on your individual development, build your confidence and communications skills and help you to feel valued at college.
You will study a Certificate of Progression alongside a series of activities that will allow you to experience various vocational pathways in a supported, mainstream environment. Units you will study include:
- Units for the Certificate in Progression
- Self-confidence and self-awareness
- Working in a team
- Career planning
- Exploring enterprise
- Digital skills for work
- Healthy living
- Understanding self and others
There are no formal entry qualifications for the Futures Ignite Certificate in Progression Level 1 programme.
Prospective students may have become disengaged with education, suffer persistent low attendence and/or face a barrier to education. The entry process to the Futures Ignite Certificate in Progression Level 1 programme will include an interview to identify the appropriateness of the programme for the student.
The Futures Ignite Certificate in Progression Level 1 programme will take you 1 year to complete. You will attend the Jean Ingelow Centre for 3 days per week (flexible timetable options available) at our Rochford Campus in Boston.
The Futures Ignite Certificate in Progression Level 1 programme is free for those who are:
- Under 19 on 31 August of the year they start their course
- Aged 19+ and on an EHCP
You will be assessed by practical and theoretical means as well as via unit completion of your Progression Skills Gateaway.
Successful completion of the Futures Ignite Certificate in Progression Level 1 programme can lead onto a Level 1 Vocational course at the College or further education and/or training.
