The Pearson BTEC Operations Engineering for England HND Level 5 is a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) that has been approved against employer developed standards, also known as occupational standards.
This course is designed to enable you to open the door to the world of engineering. You will develop the qualities and abilities necessary for roles that require personal responsibility and decision-making. By the end of your study, you will have a comprehensive understanding of the principles in your area of specialist study and will know how to apply those principles more widely in the industry.
Throughout this course, you will gain expert knowledge in engineering principles, production processes, electro and hydraulic systems and fault finding. You will develop a comprehensive understanding of the principles in your area of specialist study and will know how to apply those principles more widely in the industry.
During your first year, you will study a Level 4 HNC. Upon successful completion of the first year, you will then progress on to the second year if you choose to study the Level 5 HND.

You will attend college for 2 days a week for two years, plus independent study.
The Operations Engineering HND Level 5 will cost ยฃ7100 per year.

Assessment is via both coursework and practical examinations, including presentations and group discussions.
The assessment of Pearson's Higher National qualifications are criterion-referenced and you will provide evidence in the form of assignments, which are assessed against the unit learning outcomes and assessment criteria.
The Pearson HND courses are highly valued by employers and can lead to careers specialisms. Progression onto an undergraduate degree or further professional qualifications in a related area are possible.
