Academic Dress

Your Graduation Ceremony is a formal occasion and academic dress is an essential part of the celebration. All graduands are required to wear a Boston College Hood, Bachelor’s Gown and Mortarboard, with smart clothing worn underneath. We recommend bringing hair grips to help secure your mortarboard throughout the ceremony.

Your gown must be ordered from Churchill Gowns by Thursday 8th October. Pre-ordering is essential, as your academic dress will be delivered directly to you ahead of the ceremony.

Please ensure your outfit is appropriate for this special occasion. Jeans, t-shirts, trainers and other casual clothing are not considered suitable graduation attire. You are also advised to avoid bringing large bags and to keep personal belongings to a minimum. Where possible, please leave any belongings with your guests.
