The Pearson BTEC Fashion and Textiles HND Level 5 is designed to prepare you for the constantly evolving fashion industry. You will develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for sustainable fashion. The course covers fashion design, garment construction, pattern cutting, fabric manipulation, and sewing machine techniques, all with a focus on minimising environmental impact and promoting ethical practices.
Throughout this course, you will explore various fashion and textile techniques, develop your creative practice through hands-on workshops, and gain insights from expert lecturers, engaging in real-world projects to build a comprehensive portfolio.
During your first year, you will study a Level 4 HNC. Upon successful completion of the first year, you will then progress on to the second year to study the Level 5 HND.

You will attend college for 2-3 days a week for two years, plus approximately 24 hours of independent study per week.
The Fashion and Textiles HND Level 5 will cost ยฃ7100 per year.

Assessment is via course work which includes essays, reports, practical observations and presentations.
The assessment of Pearson's Higher National qualifications are criterion-referenced and you will provide evidence in the form of assignments, which are assessed against the unit learning outcomes and assessment criteria.
The Pearson HND courses are highly valued by employers and can lead to careers specialisms. Progression onto an undergraduate degree or further professional qualifications in a related area are possible.
