Course Summary
The Beginners’ Machine Embroidery course runs over six weeks and introduces you to a range of techniques and materials. You’ll explore different fabrics and stabilisers used in machine embroidery, build confidence using the hoop and movements, and create a sample stitched outline picture. As the course progresses, you’ll experiment with thread sketching on the machine, make wired 3D lace flowers, and produce a textured picture using the techniques you’ve learned.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
The course will take you 12 hours to complete, over 6 weekly sessions. You will attend college from 1:00pm - 3:00pm at our Spalding Campus, starting on Tuesday 24th February 2026.
This course is fully funded, meaning you won’t have any course fees to pay.p>
