This one-day introductory session covers the key principles of teaching and learning within the post-14 Further Education sector. Topics include:
- An introduction to teaching, training and learning in Further Education
- Understanding the role and responsibilities of a teacher or trainer
- Exploring active learning strategies to encourage learner engagement
- Creating inclusive and positive learning environments
- Introduction to behaviour management techniques
- Understanding the basics of lesson planning and learning outcomes
- Supporting different learner needs and promoting participation
- Progression routes into teaching and training, including the Level 3 Award in Education and Training & Cert-Ed / PGCE.
There are no formal entry requirements for the Introduction to Education - Teaching Toolkit.
The Introduction to Education - Teaching Toolkit will take you one day to complete. You will attend college at our Rochford Campus in Boston between 9:00am and 4:00pm on Friday 21st August 2026.
This course is fully funded, meaning you won’t have any course fees to pay providing you are aged 19+ and live in Lincolnshire.
You will be assessed using formative assessment methods throughout the day.
Successful completion of the Introduction to Education - Teaching Toolkit can open routes to further study such as a Level 3 Award in Education & Training, a Level 5 Certificate in Education (Post 14) or a Level 7 Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (Post 14).
