Course Summary
This four day course is designed for those already working, or preparing to work in food manufacturing or in food supply chain supervisory or management roles.
This course will give you the opportunity to assess multiple aspects of food safety across the food supply chain industry, supporting your exisitng career, or equipping you for a role in industry.
This qualification supports workforce and/or vocational development for those who need to understand the principles of food safety management for the food industry. This qualification is designed for use primarily by supervisors and technical managers who carry out these workplace activities; this unit can also support those who wish to expand their knowledge and understanding of food safety across the food supply chain industry.
What else do I need to know?
During this course, you will cover a variety of topics linked to food safety across the food supply chain industry, including:
- Understanding how food business operators ensure compliance with food safety legislation
- Understand how to analyse food safety hazards and review their controls
- Understand the operational requirements needed to ensure food safety in a food business
- Understand how to establish and maintain food safety management procedure
You must be a minimum of 16 years old to take this qualification.
You do not require any prior qualifications or food skills experience to take this qualification although achievement of a Level 3 Food Safety or HACCP qualification may be advantageous.
This course will take you 4 days to complete. You will attend college at our Rochford Campus in Boston.
You will be assessed by both short and extended answer examinations provided by FDQ, externally set and externally or internally marked.
This qualification is an Award requiring achievement of 6 credits, graded at pass/fail. Learners must pass two papers to achieve the qualification. The examinations are centre marked and internally quality assured.
Successful completion of this qualification can support progression onto higher awards within the Food Safety industry. This qualification may also support progression into employment as a food manufacturing supervisor/manager or food supply chain supervisor/manager.
