Course Summary

The Award in HACCP in Food Manufacturing Level 4 is designed to support you working in, or preparing to work, in food manufacturing or in food supply chain management roles.

You will learn the skills and knowledge that you need to understand the principles of HACCP management for manufacturing in a food business, or in a learning environment.

This qualification is designed primarily by operatives and others who carry out these workplace activities. It is also designed for those who plan to enter the food and drink industry or employees who wish to expand on their existing knowledge and understanding.

What else do I need to know?

The Award in HACCP in Food Manufacturing Level 4 will cover all the underpinning knowledge and understanding to recognised National Occupational Standards and includes:

  • Understanding the importance of HACCP based food safety management proceedures
  • Understanding how to manage the implementation of HACCP based food safety management procedures
  • Understanding how to develop HACCP based food safety management procedures
  • Understanding how to evaluate HACCP based food safety management procedures

You must be aged 18 years or over to take this qualification.

You do not require any prior qualifications or experience to take this qualification, although achievement of a Level 3 Food Safety or HACCP qualification may be advantageous.

The Award in HACCP in Food Manufacturing Level 4 will take you 4 days to complete. You will attend college at our Rochford Campus in Boston.

You will be assessed on the Award in HACCP in Food Manufacturing Level 4 by two written exams provided by FDQ; one short answer question exam, and 1 extended answer questions exam.

Successful completion of the Award in HACCP in Food Manufacturing Level 4 could support your progression on to further study such as:

  • Food manufacturing
  • Food supply chain management
  • Food science and technology
  • Food hygiene, safety and quality
