This Level 3 Engineering Technology - Motorsport Diploma is a practical based qualification linked to Motorsport. It is designed to support Employment, Higher Education and/or Apprenticeship pathways.

It is a one-year course and is best suited for those that have completed a previous Level 2 Motorsport qualification.

What will I do?

During the Level 3 Engineering Technology - Motorsport Diploma you will study both the theoretical and practical aspects of Motorsport that includes:

  • Engineering Workshop Techniques
  • Motorsport Vehicle Preparation
  • Motorsport Vehicle Electronic Ancillary and Information Systems
  • Motorsport Vehicle Tyres, Suspension, Steering and Braking Systems
  • Motorsport Vehicle System Fault
  • Diagnosis and Rectification
  • Function, Operation and Inspection of Motorsport Transmission Systems
  • Motorsport Vehicle Bodywork

You will have the opportunity to visit several Motorsport and Engineering establishments to enhance your learning and experience the different careers and environments available in the industry.

In addition to your main course you will also study.
Award in Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Technology.

The entry qualifications for the Level 3 Engineering Technology - Motorsport Diploma are five GCSEs at grade 4 or above (Old GCSE grade C or above) including English, Maths and related subjects (or equivalent) or completion of a full time Level 2 course in Motorsport.

You will attend Boston College for 3-4 days per week for a total of 35 weeks (one academic year).

The Motorsport Diploma Level 3 is free for those who are under 19 on 31st August of the year they start their course.

For those aged 19+, this course will cost: £3345.

Aged 19+?
If you are aged 19 years or over on the 1st day of your course, you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with your College fees. If you progress to employment you won't have to pay anything back until you’re earning £25,000 per year. Your household income isn't taken into account and there's no credit check. You will be assessed through exams, practical assessments and written assignments.

Successful completion of the Level 3 Engineering Motorsport Diploma allows you to continue your studies at university level or employment.

Additional costs include purchasing corporate work wear, which includes polo shirts, workshop jacket and safety footwear.
