Boston College appoints National Leader of Governance David Wright as new Chair of Corporation

11th August 2026

Boston College has appointed NLG David Wright as its new Chair of Corporation. David brings more than 20 years of governance experience to the role, including 14 years within the further education and skills sector.

David brings extensive experience of governance, leadership and board effectiveness across both the public and private sectors. David has held several non-executive roles throughout his career and, most recently, an eight-year term as Chair of Corporation at an Outstanding-rated sixth form college in Leeds.

In 2021, David was appointed as a National Leader of Governance where he works with colleges and the DfE supporting board-level enhancement and contributing to the development of governance best practice across the further education sector nationally.

His experience also includes working alongside the AoC to undertake external board effectiveness reviews for FE and sixth form colleges. He is passionate about the important role governors play in supporting college-wide improvement, strong leadership and effective governance.

As Chair of Corporation at Boston College, David will work closely with the governing body and the College's Principal and CEO to support the College's strategic ambitions and ensure effective governance delivers meaningful impact for students, staff and the wider community.

Lynette Leith OBE, Principal and CEO of Boston College, said, “It’s an exciting time for the College as we continue our journey of transformation and build on our ambitions for the future. I’m thrilled David is joining us as Chair at this pivotal time. His extensive experience of further education governance and commitment to college improvement will be a real asset to Boston College, and I’m looking forward to working with him as we continue to deliver for our staff, students and communities.”
