Boston College celebrates another year of excellent A Level success

The College’s A Level provision has grown significantly this year, with exam entries increasing by 60%, reflecting the growing popularity of its distinctive approach to A Level study. At Boston College, A Level options are designed around career streams, combining academic subjects with enrichment and practical experience aligned to specific career pathways. This gives students a different A Level experience to traditional sixth form, helping them develop the knowledge, skills, confidence and experience to progress successfully into higher education and their chosen careers.

This approach is reflected in the results, with several A Level subjects achieving a 100% pass rate, including English Literature, Film, Media and Politics. The impressive outcomes reflect the determination, resilience and commitment shown by students throughout their studies, supported by the dedication of the College’s experienced teaching staff.

The College is proud to celebrate the achievements of every student as they take their next steps towards bright futures. Whether progressing to university, higher apprenticeships, employment or further study, students have secured destinations that reflect their ambitions and aspirations.

Alongside academic success, Boston College has continued to place student wellbeing at the heart of the learning experience, helping students build confidence, independence and resilience to prepare them for life beyond college.

Ashly Ashish, who studied Psychology, Sociology and Biology and achieved B, B and C, said:

"I came from a school in India straight to Boston College, and I found it very accessible and welcoming to international students. I've had the most enjoyable experience as a student and have made so many friends, which was something I was initially quite nervous about. The lecturers have given me so much support and guidance. They helped me prioritise what was important and work out what I wanted to do next. I would recommend Boston College to anyone considering it. School can be a lot of pressure, but being at college took a lot of that pressure away and gave me a safe, comfortable environment where I could study and be myself."

Ashly is now continuing to progress in her current employment with the goal of a career in pharmaceuticals. 

Another student celebrating success was William Richardson, who studied Biology, Psychology and Sociology, receiving grades B, B and C. Speaking after collecting his results, he said:

"Being a student at Boston College gave me a much more adult atmosphere than a sixth form. I was treated with respect, and the lecturers were really committed to helping me learn, often putting in extra time and providing additional resources to support my studies. I really enjoyed the more grown-up atmosphere at Boston College and the independence that came with studying my A Levels."

With his A Level results William has secured his place at Lincoln Bishop University to study Primary Education.

Lani Philip, who completed A Levels in Psychology and English Literature, also achieved fantastic results with a grade B in each subject. She said:

"When I was choosing where to study, Boston College just felt like the best fit for me. My experience has been exceptional, and I couldn't have asked for a better college. I'm incredibly grateful and fortunate to have been a student here. All of the lecturers I've come into contact with have been amazing. They've created a really friendly and supportive atmosphere among the students, and nothing was ever too much trouble for them. I would recommend Boston College because of the support, communication between lecturers and the welcoming atmosphere. You always feel like there's someone there to help you."

Lani is now going to study Biomedical Science at the University of Lincoln.

"We're exceptionally proud of all our students collecting results today across A Levels, T Levels, and Level 3 Diplomas. Our A Level students get a great experience with us on our career based streams, and this is reflected in the pass rates and student feedback across a number of our A Levels - this all really sets the students up well for their next steps at University. We have a fantastic staff team in our A Level department who are exceptional at supporting the students, and we're overjoyed to see the students collecting their results today."
