Course Summary

Discover the fundamentals of bread making in this hands-on course, perfect for anyone looking to build confidence and practical skills in baking.

You’ll learn a range of core techniques, including mixing, proving, shaping and finishing doughs, while producing a selection of classic bakes:

  • White bread rolls – making, proving and shaping white roll dough
  • Granary tin loaf – preparing granary dough, proving and finishing a traditional tin loaf
  • Cinnamon rolls – creating a sweet, enriched dough, proving and shaping a rolled dough, finished with cream cheese frosting

This course can support progression into further study, including Level 2 Food Safety or part-time courses within the department such as Level 2 Food Production and Cooking or Level 2 Professional Cookery.

Please bring your own takeaway containers and bags to safely transport your baked goods home at the end of the course.

The course will take you 1 day to complete, and will take place at our Boston Campus on Wednesday 8th April 2026, from 9:00am to 4:30pm.
