Course Summary

The eSports Level 3 Extended Diploma is designed to help you discover the rapidly growing world of competitive gaming and eSports.

From understanding how eSports organisations operate, to analysing gameplay strategies and player performance, you will gain an insight into both the competitive and the business aspects of the eSports industry.

You will explore entrepreneurship, event management and the importance of health, wellbeing, and fitness for eSports players which can support you to gain employment in the industry, or progress you onto further, higher-level education.

The eSports Level 3 Extended Diploma will build your practical and transferable skills by engaging in real-world scenarios such as:

  • Planning and delivering eSports events
  • Analysing competitive gameplay
  • Developing business ideas within the industry

You will also have the opportunity to specialise in topics that interest you through a series of optional units which include:

  • Streaming
  • Content creation
  • Branding
  • Coaching
  • Social media

With an emphasis on teamwork, communication, and professional practice, you will learn how to operate effectively within one of the fastest-growing digital industries in the world.

The entry qualifications for the eSports Extended Diploma Level 3 are five GCSEs at grade 4 or above (old GCSE grade C or above), including English and Maths.

The eSports Extended Diploma Level 3 will take you two years to complete. You will attend College for 3-4 days per week, plus independent study.

The eSports Extended Diploma Level 3 is free, if you are under the age of 19 on 31 August of the year you start the course.

If you are aged 19+, this course will cost: £8583.

Aged 19+?
If you are aged 19 years or over on the 1st day of your course, you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with your College fees. If you progress to employment you won't have to pay anything back until you're earning £25,750 per year. Your household income isn't taken into account and there's no credit check. Please note, to provide you with the most flexibility your studies will consist of two separate years, each enrolled on separately. Therefore, if you are aged 19+ before starting either year of the full qualification you will be required to pay course fees.

All units in the eSports Extended Diploma Level 3 will be internally assessed through coursework which may include:

  • Practical project work (e.g. event planning, content creation, gameplay analysis)
  • Written reports and research tasks
  • Presentations and group work

The eSports Extended Diploma Level 3 is designed to give you skills which are valued by industry employers and can open doors to a wide range of careers, not just within eSports. Students may progress into roles such as; eSports player, coach or performance analyst, events officer, content creator, or social media officer; students may also progress onto further higher-level study.

There are no mandatory additional costs, but some learners may wish to purchase or supply their own equipment such as a headset, keyboard, or mouse.
