Early Years Practitioner Diploma Level 2
Add to ShortlistThe aim of the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Diploma is to provide you with the knowledge and understanding of babies and young children from birth to five years.
The qualification meets the Department for Education (DfE) Level 2 full and relevant criteria for a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner in the workforce.
What will I do?
You will be required to volunteer in an Early Years Setting (working with children aged 0-8) for two days a week to gain practical hands on knowledge. You will then attend college for three days a week where you will cover a range of topics including, Learning and Development, Safeguarding and Wellbeing, Roles and Responsibilities, and Physical Development and Healthy Lifestyles.
This course will support you with developing your academic writing to prepare you for the transition to higher level courses.
Entry Qualifications
To study the Early Years Practitioner Diploma you will need an overall grade profiles on 3's and 4's and must have a grade 4 in English.
Attendance
This Course will take you one year to complete. You will attend College for three days per week, and then two days per week at your placement.
Fees
The Early Years Practitioner Diploma Level 2 is free and available to those under the age of 19 on 31 August of the year you start the course.
For those aged 19+ we offer a part time option to study the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Diploma.
How Will I Be Assessed
You will be assessed via a mixture of placement observations and written assignments.
Where Could It Lead?
You can work under supervision in roles such as: Nursery practitioner, Classroom assistant, Pre-school practitioner. You could progress on to the Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) Level 3
