Entry Qualifications
In order to study the Animal Management HNC Level 4, you will need to have successfully completed:
- a DM profile on an Animal Management BTEC Level 3 Diploma course, a MMP profile on the Animal Management BTEC Extended Diploma, an Access to Higher Education qualification, or an A Level equivalent or a related subject (minimum 80 new UCAS points)
- GCSEs in English, Maths and Science at grade 4 (C) or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 and/or minimum IELTS score of 6
- The ability to demonstrate meaningful work experience

Attendance
The Animal Management (Animal Behaviour and Welfare) HNC Level 4 will take you 1 year to complete. You will attend college at our Boston (Rochford) Campus 2 days a week, plus independent study. There may also be 1 evening session, but the day would start later than usual.
Fees
The Animal Management (Animal Behaviour and Welfare) HNC Level 4 will cost £7100.

How Will I Be Assessed
Assessment is via course work which includes essays, reports, practical observations and presentations.
The assessment of Pearson's Higher National qualifications are criterion-referenced and you will provide evidence in the form of assignments, which are assessed against the unit learning outcomes and assessment criteria.
Where Could It Lead?
The Pearson HNC course is highly valued by employers and can lead to careers specialisms. Successful completion of this course will enable progression onto the Animal Management (Animal Behaviour and Welfare) HND Top-Up Level 5 at Boston College or a relevant Level 5 qualification at alternative providers.
Additional costs
Additional costs for this course include purchasing pens, paper, course specific materials and pay for educational and non-educational visits. There are a number of educational visits arranged which you are encouraged to attend at a minimal cost, usually around £50.
