Boston College, in conjunction with regional education providers, is pleased to announce the Lincolnshire Institute of Technology.


Led by The University of Lincoln, the Lincolnshire Institute of Technology (IoT) is a landmark institution creating a step to change in the skills provision and productively of Greater Lincolnshire, involving over £41 million of investment. 

With dedicated facilities in Boston, Grantham, Grimsby, Holbeach, Lincoln, Scunthorpe and Riseholme there will be an integrated network of centres located at the heart of agri-tech, food manufacturing, engineering , energy and digital sectors it will serve. Over three-quarters of the Lincolnshire IoT courses will be brand new and will radically reduce the distance learners have to travel. 

Boston College Institute of Technology 

Boston College's Institute of Technology is located within the main Rochford building. Facilities within the IOT include a graphic suite, electronic and robotics room, hydraulics and pneumatics training equipment, a University Level seminar room, and a digital technology suite. 

 

The College's Engineering, Manufacturing and Technology Centre (EMAT) also forms part of IOT, and includes facilities such as an innovation hub, engineering workshops, electronics laboratory, CAD suite and classrooms. Visit our EMAT page for full information on the Centre.

The IRB 1100 has arrived at Boston College! 

Designed by ABB Robotics and adapted to be used as a training tool by Pelican Control Systems, the IRB 1100 will be based within the College's EMAT Centre as part of the new Institute of Technology and will allow students to learn key skills, which can be transferred directly into the workplace.
