Course Summary
The Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Award Level 1 qualification provides students with a range of skills and knowledge. Students will also develop an understanding of energy efficiency and sustainability that will support progress to further learning across a range of subjects.
What else do I need to know?
Units include:
- Carbon Awareness: Develop knowledge of the carbon footprint, the impact of global warming, and how energy consumption links to carbon emissions.
- Improving Energy Efficiency: Develop knowledge of the importance of energy efficiency, including monitoring energy consumption, reducing heat loss from a building, monitoring fuel consumption in a vehicle, understanding energy efficiency ratings of electrical equipment, and finding information about saving energy.
- Sources of Energy: Develop knowledge of different sources of energy, identify how renewable sources may be developed, and explore issues that may arise with such developments.
- Sustainability and Environmental Awareness: Develop knowledge of sustainability and raise awareness of the environment, considering how consumption levels may impact the environment and how developing more sustainable behaviours may support it.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
The Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Award Level 1 course will take you 9 weeks to complete. You will attend college from 5:00pm-8:00pm for 1 day per week at our Rochford Campus in Boston.
The Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Award Level 1 will cost £150 per person.

You will be assessed via a mix of coursework and projects.
