Course Summary

The Content Creator Apprenticeship Level 3 is designed to equip you with the digital skills and knowledge required in today’s fast-paced marketing environments. This programme blends practical digital marketing skills with theoretical knowledge, ideal for those eager to gain hands-on experience while working in a real business environment.

Created in line with industry needs and employer feedback, this apprenticeship focuses on the tools, techniques and strategies used in professional digital marketing roles. Students will develop proficiency in using digital platforms to drive customer acquisition, engagement and retention, making them valuable assets in any business.

The course supports progression into roles such as digital marketing assistant, campaign executive, social media coordinator, content creator or progression to further study and specialisation.

What else do I need to know?

During the course, you will work on real-world projects and carry out on-the-job training, guided by experienced tutors and workplace mentors. You will be supported to reach the gateway to end point assessment to achieve the Apprenticeship Standard.

Throughout the Apprenticeship, you will:

  • Planning and developing creative content in line with a budget
  • Creating content in line with the company strategy and objectives
  • Researching, preparing and developing content to maximise audience engagement
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to design content which meets the overall strategy
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of posted content using analytics and data sources
  • Undertaking continuous professional development
  • Utilising appropriate software to edit and produce content

To complete the Content Creator Apprenticeship, you must be working in a relevant job role and industry. If you already hold a higher-level qualification in this area, it may affect your eligibility. Relevant digital or creative experience is also an advantageous but not essential.

If you are aged 16–18, you will need Level 2 English and maths for this apprenticeship. Apprentices who do not already have Level 2 English and maths must achieve this before taking their End-Point Assessment (EPA). Before you start, we will assess your English and maths levels. You will need to be working at Level 1 to be accepted onto the apprenticeship.

The Content Creator Apprenticeship Level 3 will take you 18 months to complete. You will attend will meet your with assessor at least once a month either at your workplace or at college.

As an Apprentice, you will pay no course fees. However, your employer may have to pay towards your training as well as providing you with a wage. There are different rates of pay for Apprentices depending on your age and the year of your Apprenticeship that you’re in.

Aged 16-18: The current National Minimum Wage rate for an apprentice is £7.55 per hour.

Aged 19+ and in your first year: The current National Minimum Wage rate for an apprentice is £7.55 per hour.

Aged 19+ and have completed your first year: You are entitled to the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage rate for your age.

You will be assigned an assessor who will visit you in your workplace throughout your course. They will provide support and guidance and use a range of assessment methods to help you meet the requirements of the qualification and the apprenticeship standard.

You will be assessed in different ways, such as presentations, written reports, project work, practical tasks and an external exam. These methods reflect how work is assessed in industry and help prepare you for employment or further study at university.

When you, your employer and your assessor all agree that you are ready, you will be put forward for your End-Point Assessment, which is carried out by an independent assessor.

Successfully completing of the apprenticeship will give you a stronger understanding of the subject and may allow you to progress onto further qualifications in this area.
