As an Apprentice, you will pay no course fees. However, your employer may have to pay towards your training as well as providing you with a wage (please see below).

There are different rates of pay for apprentices depending on your age and what year of your apprenticeship you’re in.

The current National Minimum Wage rate for an apprentice is £5.28 per hour.

You’re entitled to the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage rate for your age.

You will be supported through one-to-one delivery. Individual feedback will be given to enable you to achieve relevant milestones throughout the training programme to ensure successful complete of the End Point Assessment (EPA) which comprises:

• A multiple choice test
• A professional discussion (45 minutes)
• A completed evidenced portfolio, along with an interview

You will also be supported in your workplace through regular meetings between you and your assessor which will include, but not be limited to, professional discussion, observations, written work feedback and action planning, all relating to the expected outcomes of the Lead Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship Standard.

Successful completion of the advanced level apprenticeship provides the suitable level of occupational competence to meet regulatory and registration requirements for the sector.

There is also an opportunity for Apprentices to go on to further study at higher levels.
