During the Digital Marketing Certificate Level 2, you will study the basics of marketing strategy including social media, email and search engine optimisation (SEO) as part of marketing campaigns. This course is designed for those who have little or no previous experience but would like to develop their knowledge and understanding of digital marketing.

This qualification is a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification and demonstrates your competency to employers. It can be used to update and continue your professional development, (CPD), and to develop knowledge/skills relevant to the occupational specialisation. It is also suitable for anyone with a personal interest in this topic.

What will I do?

During the course, you will cover topics including:

  • Social Media for Business: Understanding the range of social media platforms available for use by business, knowing how to use social media platforms to engage audience, and understanding the role of social media in building brand reputation
  • Email as a Promotional Tool for Business: Understanding how email campaigns can help businesses reach and engage their audience, planning an email campaign, and understanding the role of data protection regulation when implementing email campaign
  • Digital Marketing Review: Understanding the role of digital marketing, knowing how to review the effectiveness of digital marketing, and knowing how to use the outcomes of digital marketing effectiveness reviews
  • Understanding Search Engine Optimisation for Business: Understanding the principles of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), knowing how Search Engine Optimisation benefits business, and knowing how to use Search Engine Optimisation to benefit a business
  • Digital Marketing for Business: Understanding the role of digital marketing in business, understanding how digital promotion is achieved, producing a plan to promote a business through digital channels, and knowing how to use online presence to raise funds and cut cost

To study this course, you will need:

  • To be aged 19+ on 31st August of the year you start the course
  • A minimum of a Level 1 qualification in English/Literacy or equivalent

We can assess your English/Literacy level before you enrol on the Distance Learning course to see if you are currently working to this level. Please contact [email protected] to request further information.

To assist in completion of this qualification, it may help to be working in, or have access to, the chosen sector. If you already have a higher-level qualification in this specialism, it may impact on your eligibility.

This course will take you approximately 14 weeks to complete. Distance Learning courses can be studied from home, work, or any location you wish. This course will be studied via fully online learning and assessments.

This course is currently being subsidised by Boston College and is therefore FREE* of charge.

We do accept that sometimes there are exceptional circumstances that prohibit you from completing these courses. If you find yourself struggling with the qualification, our support staff will always try to help you find a workable resolution. However, if you are studying a free course and choose to withdraw, you may have to pay a non-completion fee of Β£85 to cover the administration costs, materials and registration fees.

You will be allocated your own online study pack and will be supported by a personal tutor who you can contact throughout your studies. You will work through a series of tasks and activities to assist in gaining the qualification. There is no formal exam, however there will be written assessments related to the content.

Successful completion of the course will lead to a better understanding of the subject, which may improve your career prospects. You could also progress onto other qualifications in this field, or further courses to continue your CPD.
