Engineering Students come together to celebrate IOT
Boston College’s Institute of Technology (IoT) Engineering students came together with other students from Lincolnshire’s IoTs to celebrate being part of this landmark institution.
The celebration event, held at Lincoln College, brought together all the Lincolnshire IoT partners; University of Lincoln, Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education, DN Colleges Group (North Lindsey College), Bishop Burton College (Riseholme College), Grantham College and University Centre, Lincoln College and Lincoln UTC to highlight and showcase the education, career and employment opportunities within the area.
The event, opened by Mark Locking, Lincoln College Principal and CEO, saw each attending college bring along exciting interactive activities, equipment, and student work to showcase their individual IoT specialism, ending with a quiz and networking opportunities to allow students to get to know their fellow IoT members.
Boston College teamed up with Matrix, provider of industrial standard training equipment, to provide interactive have-a-go robotic activities including a robot buggy, robot arm and locktronics, as well as providing information on Engineering courses available at the College.
The event was also supported by Bakkavor PLC, Olympus Automation Limited, Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnerships, Siemens Energy UK and CATCH.
