The Care Diploma Level 2 is aimed at people who are new to working in the adult social care sector and would like to develop competency, skills and behaviours relating to the care of individuals.

During the course you will be able to develop various skills that is requires to work in the adult care sector.

You will need to be aged 19+ and working in the care sector to complete this course.

Upon successful completion of this course, the qualification you will achieve is the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Diploma in Care.

Please note - Learners studying a Health and Social Care course need to meet current Government legal requirements relating to COVID-19 vaccination status when working in the health and social care sector. This means learners must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, this includes being double vaccinated and having received a booster. Learners need to meet this legal requirement to be able to attend placement, without attending placement learners cannot complete their qualifications.

If you think you may be medically exempt from the COVID-19 mandatory vaccination. Learners will need to provide evidence of an NHS Covid pass medical exemption. There is further guidance on how to apply for a medical exemption and prove you are unable to get vaccinated on the government website.

What will I do?

Throughout the course you will complete nine mandatory units and various optional units relating to your job role.

There are no formal entry qualifications for the Adult Care Diploma, although you must be aged 19+ and employed within a health and Social care setting such as: residential homes, home support area, day services, and hospital settings.

The Care Diploma Level 2 will take you 12 months to complete, with flexible start dates meaning you can start at any point throughout the year. As this course is completed In the workplace you will need to ensure you are employed in a relevant setting. You will have monthly update meetings with you assessor.

You will attend monthly meetings with your assessor and have observations within your work practice to demonstrate consistency within your work.

Your assessor is occupational competent and will support and work with you throughout the qualification period.

Successful completion of the Adult Care diploma could lead to the Adult Care Diploma level 3.
