Enter the exciting world of Engineering with the Level 2 Engineering Technology Diploma, giving the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills required for a successful career in the Engineering sector.

You will cover the essential subjects required to give an overview of the engineering sector and develop your understanding and practical experience of a range of engineering activities.

What will I do?

During the Level 2 Engineering Technology Diploma, you will cover a range of engineering subjects in both theory and practical sessions, which include:

  • Working in Engineering
  • Principles of Engineering Technology
  • Principles of Manufacturing Technology
  • Bench Fitting Techniques
  • Constructing, Testing and Fault Finding

You will also develop your skills for employment, looking at different careers and engineering employers.

You will also have the opportunity to visit several engineering and educational establishments to enhance your learning and experience the different careers and environments available in the engineering industry.

In addition to your course, you may also study either Functional Skills or GCSE English and Maths, dependent on your current GCSE grade.

The entry qualifications for the Level 2 Engineering Technology Diploma are four GCSEs at grades 3 or above (Old GCSE grade D or above) including English, Maths or Science (or equivalent).

The Engineering Technology Diploma will take you one year to complete. You will attend College for at least four days a week.

The Engineering Technology Diploma is free, if you are under the age of 19 on 31 August of the year you start the course.

If you are aged 19+, this course will cost £1500.

You will be assessed through exams, practical assessments and written assignments.

Successful completion of the Level 2 Engineering Technology Diploma will allow you to progress onto a Level 3 course to enable you to progress further within the engineering industry.

You could also undertake an Apprenticeship alongside an employer, where you would train on the job and attend College one day a week to complete your assessments.

Additional costs include purchasing corporate work wear, which includes polo shirts, overalls and safety footwear.
