This Level 2 Equality and Diversity Certificate is beneficial for anyone with an interest in improving their knowledge and raising their awareness of issues around equality and diversity whether in society, the workplace or the community. You will develop knowledge and understanding which can be applied in the workplace and will be of value to employers, but the underlying principles of the programme are applicable to all walks of life.

This qualification can be used to update and continue your professional development (CPD) and to develop knowledge/skills relevant to your occupational specialisation. It is suitable for anyone who works, or is hoping to gain employment, in this field. It can also lead to further qualifications in this area.

What will I do?

During the Level 2 Equality and Diversity Certificate you will study:

  • Unit 1 – Equality and diversity in society
  • Unit 2 – Equality and diversity in the community
  • Unit 3 – Equality and diversity in the workplace

To study this course, you will need:

  • To be aged 19+ on 31st August of the year you start the course
  • A minimum of a Level 1 qualification in English/Literacy or equivalent
 

We can assess your English/Literacy level before you enrol on the Distance Learning course to see if you are currently working to this level. Please contact distancelearning@boston.ac.uk to request further information.

To assist in completion of this qualification, it may help to be working in, or have access to, the chosen sector. If you already have a higher-level qualification in this specialism, it may impact on your eligibility.

This course will take you approximately 14 weeks to complete. Distance Learning courses can be studied from home, work, or any location you wish. This course will be studied via fully online learning and assessments.

This course is currently being subsidised by Boston College and is therefore FREE* of charge.

Please note that if you choose to withdraw from this course, you may have to pay a non-completion fee. However, we understand that sometimes there are exceptional circumstances that prohibit you from completing these courses, and our staff will always try to help you find a workable resolution.

You will be allocated your own online study pack and will be supported by a personal tutor who you can contact throughout your studies. You will work through a series of tasks and activities to assist in gaining the qualification. There is no formal exam, however there will be written assessments related to the content.

Successful completion of the course will lead to a better understanding of the subject, which may improve your career prospects. You could also progress onto other qualifications in this field, or further Distance Learning courses to continue your CPD.
