Our Level 3 (Advanced) Business Administrator Apprenticeship is a nationally recognised course involving the use of advanced business administration techniques and training, offering you the opportunity to gain hands on industry experience.

The Business Administration Advanced Apprenticeship is made up of qualifications and learning that will provide apprentices with the skills and knowledge required to become competent in their chosen job role. Advanced apprentices will work in roles such as administration team leaders, personal assistants and administration executives.

What will I do?

During your apprenticeship you will cover units including:

  • Finance and Financial Processes
  • Business Fundamentals
  • External Influences, Stakeholder Management
  • Project Management
  • Improving Processes and Decision Making
  • Regulations and Business Policies

The Apprenticeship also consists of several elements, which have been identified by employers as an appropriate set of skills to operate in your chosen job role.

These elements are:

Maths - Level 2 Functional Skills, unless an equivalent qualification has already been achieved.

English - Level 2 Functional Skills, unless an equivalent qualification has already been achieved.

Vocational Element (Knowledge) - most Apprenticeships include off-the-job study.

Vocational Element (Competence) - all apprenticeships include on-the-job training.

On some Apprenticeships, the knowledge and competence elements are combined into one qualification.

The entry qualifications for the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship are five GCSEs at grade 4 or above (Old GCSE grade C or above) including English and Maths and/or Functional Skills English and Maths at Level 2 or above (or equivalent). You will also need to be in a relevant job role.

The Business Administrator Apprenticeship will take you 18 months to complete. You will attend College at least twice a month where you will receive one-to-one support from your assessor and functional skills tutors.

As an Apprentice, you will pay no course fees. However, your employer may have to pay towards your training as well as providing you with a wage (please see below).

There are different rates of pay for apprentices depending on your age and what year of your apprenticeship you’re in.

Aged 16 to 18.

The current National Minimum Wage rate for an apprentice is £5.28 per hour.

Aged 19 or over and in your first year.

The current National Minimum Wage rate for an apprentice is £5.28 per hour.

Aged 19 or over and have completed your first year.

You’re entitled to the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage rate for your age.

You will be externally assessed using a variety of methods including:

  • Portfolio and professional discussion
  • Project presentation and discussions
  • Online knowledge test

You will have regular reviews with a dedicated assessor who will help you to plan your learning journey on an individual basis.

Advanced Apprentices may progress onto the Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship if their job role allows. Career progression and employment opportunities will be enhanced upon completion of the Apprenticeship framework at any level.

Additional costs include purchasing an A4 folder for your work, pen, pencil and paper.
