This broad knowledge base will empower you to optimise animal health and influence positive behaviour in a variety of settings. You will engage in hands-on sessions using our extensive animal collection, where you'll refine your animal handling and research techniques. Every practical session is designed to help you apply theoretical concepts to real-life scenarios.

Within this qualification there are different occupational specialisms that use theory and practical learning approaches. Students will study a core pathway relevant to their chosen occupational specialism where they will gain an understanding of the theoretical principles and practices integral to their chosen industry.

To study the Animal Management T Level, you will need to have 5 GCSEs at grade 5 or above (old GCSE grade C or above) or equivalent, including English, Maths and Science (preferably Biology).
The Animal Management T Level will take you 2 years to complete. You will attend college at our Rochford Campus in Boston.
This T Level course is free if you are under the age of 19 on 31 August of the year you start the course.

The Animal Management T Level has a comprehensive assessment structure designed to reflect your practical skills and theoretical knowledge. This includes both internal and external assessments, ensuring you demonstrate a thorough understanding of animal management and behaviour. Additionally, you will complete an employer-led project during your extended industry work placement, providing real-world insights and the opportunity to apply your learning directly in a professional setting.
Successful completion of the Animal Management T Level opens doors to a variety of exciting opportunities. With the qualification being equivalent to three A Levels, you can pursue a path that aligns with your goals. You may choose to continue your education with University Level study in Animal Management, Behaviour, or Conservation, or opt for a Higher Apprenticeship that combines practical skills with academic learning. Alternatively, you could enter the workforce directly, benefiting from hands-on experience and industry placements in roles such as Pet Store Manager, Animal Care Technician, Zookeeper, or Animal Conservationist.
