 Media (Film)

Media at Boston College is a practical, hands-on subject that utilises our fully equipped Media workshops, including Apple Mac suites, a HD TV Studio, Art Studios and Photography Studio/Darkroom.

You will learn from lecturers that have worked in creative roles in the media industry, enabling them to share their own experiences and knowledge with you.

During the course there are extra opportunities to enhance your skills with ‘Live Briefs’ relating to industry. Each year will culminate with an awards event to celebrate the work produced. Educational visits will be arranged to enhance you study.
You will study all areas of television and film production, including directing, editing, scriptwriting and live television production. You will be trained in the operation of the related equipment, including cameras, sound equipment, lighting, and industry standard editing software incorporating image manipulation/generation with After Effects.

You will produce adverts, music videos, live television shows, documentaries and a final major project short film. Your own interests will directly impact the type of projects you work on and the finished products you produce.
Our students describe working in our TV studio as 'mind blowing'!

"It's been the best two years of my life."

They also say the course...
"Prepares you for what is going to happen when you leave college, whether it's university or employment in the industry."
