Rochford

The Main and Largest Boston College Campus


The Rochford campus is made up of five separate buildings, all with their own specialist requirements.

The main Rochford building houses many of the large practical training workshops and facilities, including brick, motor vehicle, media studio and science labs, as well as student support services such as the Learner Service Team and main reception.

Enterprise Zone

Get ahead of the crowd, experience enterprise, get employability skills, get a job or start your own business!

Based in Rochford's main reception, Boston College's Enterprise zone provides you with the opportunities to meet with local businesses and take part in a variety of enterprise challenges and workshops. It's an excellent opportunity to get in touch with the world of business and pick up valuable tips.

Library

Boston College's modern, spacious library offers you a bright, relaxing space to study, equipped with computers, a full reading list of books for all courses and access to over 300 journals. The library also benefits from having a silent study room for individual and group study.

You can borrow resources using your student ID card, study and use any of the computers, and even book PCs in advance.

Opening Times: Monday - Thursday, 8:30am - 6:00pm and Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm (term time only).

Style Academy

If you fancy treating yourself to getting your nails done or having a new hair style ready for the weekend, the College's student run hair and beauty salon, Style Academy, is the place for you!

Located on the second floor of the Rochford building, the in-house salon offers a range of high quality professional treatments without breaking the bank.

Halls of Residence

Boston College's Halls of Residence is a purpose built accommodation block, based in the centre of the Rochford Campus for both international and local students. Each student has their own individual study bedroom, and a shared kitchen and bathroom facilities with other students in the flat.

Goodlife Centre

You will most likely walk past the Goodliffe Centre and be greeted by the College's lively parrots. This is because the centre houses the ever growing Animal Care unit. The unit contains an impressive variety of small animals, birds and reptiles, along with professional industry standard equipment to take care of their daily needs.

As well as Animal Care courses, the Goodliffe Centre is also used for ESOL classes, online examinations and is home to the College's Apprenticeship Team.

Boston College: SIXTH

Boston College: SIXTH is a purpose built centre for those students studying A levels. The SIXTH has been designed to promote modern teaching and learning methods.

The SIXTH is a much more grown-up environment than school - helping to teach you how to manage your own time and learning, preparing you effectively for university or employment.

Boston University Centre

The Boston University Centre is the base for the majority of the College's Access to Higher Education and University Level courses. The Centre offers a relaxed, adult environment, similar to that of university.

EMAT Centre

NEW FOR OCTOBER 2019

The Engineering, Manufacturing and Technology Centre is Boston College's newest addition and is planned to open for October 2019.

Feeling Hungry??

You'll never go hungry at the Rochford campus. With five different places to choose from, you'll be spoilt for choice.

The Diner and Deli

Chill out with your friends and grab some lunch or a snack from the two counters serving hot and cold food.

Opening Times: Monday - Friday, until 6:00pm

The Coffee Shop

Grab a Costa coffee to go or indulge in a hot chocolate and a freshly baked cake on your break.

Opening Times: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 2:00pm

The Food Court

Tasty new menus are on offer every day as well as irresistible home-made desserts, all prepared by the skilled Catering students and staff. Main meals start from £2.40 with light bites and snacks from 60p and salad bar bowls from 90p.

Opening Times: Monday - Friday, 10:00am - 1:30pm (main meals are served from 12 noon)

Lime

A fine-dining restaurant on your door step! Lime is the place to head if you fancy something a little bit special for a mid-week treat, offering high quality food at an exceptionally reasonable price.

Opening Times: Tuesday - Friday lunchtimes, and selected Thursday evenings

University Centre Coffee Shop

If you are based within the Boston University Centre, the University Centre Coffee Shop will keep you fuelled for studying by offering a wide range of hot and cold drinks and snacks.
