Students go for gold at this year’s Elite Eleven
Secondary schools from across the county competed in a variety of indoor and outdoor sporting challenges to be crowned this year’s ‘Elite Eleven’ and receive the coveted ‘Target Team Award’ trophy. The title this year was won by Bourne Grammar School.
We were delighted to welcome Callum Johnson, Commonwealth and British Light Heavyweight Boxing champion, and Billy Spooner, professional golfer, to inspire the competitors and celebrate the success of the winners by handing over their prizes.
As well as the trophy, each member of the team received a pair of Beats EP headphones and a hand-signed poster from Callum Johnson.
James Wright, Programme Area Manager for Sport said, “The event ran exceptionally well and the effort, determination, and passion of the competing students made their teachers and schools very proud. A big thanks to Callum Johnson and Billy Spooner who inspired and informed learners on the topic of elite performance and also to our event sponsors; Boston United Football Club, SneakerBoys, Geoff Moulder Leisure Centre and Freshdrop.”
