Official Opening of Digital Skills Hub at Boston College Spalding Campus
Boston College saw the opening of its first Digital Skills Hub this week at the College’s Spalding Campus.
The Spalding based Digital Skills Hub is one of three hubs that will be opening over the upcoming months, with the other two located at the College’s main Rochford campus in Boston and the new campus in Horncastle. Opened by Nick Worth, Boston College Governor and South Holland District Deputy Leader and Lincolnshire County Councillor, the Hub will provide a range of opportunities for the people of South Holland to gain critical skills in digital literacy, enabling them to improve their employment prospects and build on their current skill set.
Following the opening of the Digital Skills Hub, the College’s Adult Employment Event took place which provided information on apprenticeships, the national Kickstart Scheme, as well as providing an overview of the courses available at Boston College. The event aimed at those who are currently unemployed or returning to work and looking to develop new skills, also offered free workshops aimed at building confidence and supporting with finding local employment opportunities.

The new digital hub at Boston College Spalding campus, is an opportunity for local people to improve their understanding of how learning, and harnessing the power of digital, can help them to access the world and maximise their prospects. From banking and finance, to applying for jobs, to improving their digital marketing, we hope that the investment we’ve made in the hub will open doors to prosperity, in the face of adversity, for the residents of our town.”
