Learning Support Assistant, Helen, finishes her 3rd London Marathon

Learning Support Assistant, Helen, finishes her 3rd London MarathonHelen currently works at Boston College as a LSA for Ryan Smith, and ran the marathon in aid of ‘The Ryan Smith Foundation‘.

Established by Ryan and his family, after he suffered serious brain injuries when he was involved in a cycling accident. The foundation’s aim is to raise awareness of the important of wearing a helmet whilst cycling.

Helen started her strict training regime in January, and ran over 400 miles in preparation for the marathon. She raised over £1100 for the foundation, which will go towards assisting those with brain injuries and their families, as well as promoting cycle helmet safety. Speaking of the marathon Helen said, “The first 25 miles were amazing, but the last 1.2 miles were very tough, there was a lot of preparation involved but it was all worth it as it was a brilliant experience.”
