I Know, I Wish, I Will

The ‘I Know, I Wish, I Will’ project will officially launch on World Poetry Day, Thursday 21st March 2019 with the aim of bringing together children and young people to produce a 25-hour long spoken word performance that will take place on World Poetry Day, 21st March 2020 at the Criterion Theatre in London’s West End.

The year long ‘I Know, I Wish, I Will’ project asks children and young people to take the title as inspiration to create their own original poem. The finale of the project and performance will be hosted by well known celebrities and will boast a global audience as the event will be live streamed to viewers around the world.

As part of the project, spoken word artists from across the country will be brought together to form a diverse network of poets who will guide the young participants helping them articulate what they know about the world, what they wish for in the future and what they will do, to make their dreams come true.

‘I Know, I Wish, I Will’ will see Transported in conjunction with the College and the University of Lincoln, join forces with five other inspirational regional delivery partners* across London, Yorkshire, Gloucestershire, Merseyside, Peterborough and Lincolnshire to support and challenge children and young people across England to develop the confidence, knowledge and know how to write and perform their own original poetry.
