Top of the 2017 National Student Survey!

Boston College Tops the 2017 National Student SurveyMore than 300,000 students at 530 universities and colleges took part in this year’s survey and, out of just 30 that scored 100%, eight were further education and sixth form colleges. Of those eight, Boston College came out on top.

Commissioned by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) the questionnaire focussed on the following topics: teaching, learning opportunities, assessment and feedback, academic support, organisation and management, learning resources, learning community, student voice and overall satisfaction.

The survey was conducted not only so that current students can let future students know about the quality of their courses but also that the universities and colleges can use the feedback given to improve their provision and facilities. It also gives the general public an insight into the quality of higher education in the UK.

Fiona Grady, Boston College’s Vice Principal – Curriculum and Quality said, “We are delighted with the recent NSS results which show the exceptionally high levels of satisfaction our higher education learners have with their programmes of study. This demonstrates the quality of our provision, the expertise of our staff and the excellent support and guidance provided to our learners.”

Higher Education is a key growth area for Boston College offering courses across a wide range of subjects from Art and Design to Teaching, with the latter being accredited by Bishops Grosseteste University, rated Gold by the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). Increasing numbers of people are looking into studying higher education locally as not only are the course fees lower than university (not to mention the cost saving of being able to live at home while you study) but also the small class sizes offer higher levels of individual support.
