The Pearson BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Community Coaching for England is the equivalent of the first year of a 3 year Degree.

Over the course of the year, you will study 8 units that have been designed to provide the learner with the skills and knowledge needed to progress onto higher level courses, or to take into the workplace.

The course is aimed at L3 Sport and Exercise Science students looking to move onto higher levels courses. Other previous qualifications will also be considered from within the Sport sector.

This course can also be useful for local employers should they wish to upskill their staff.

What will I do?

The course consists of 8 units, 4 mandatory and 4 optional.

In order to study the Pearson HNC Community Coaching, you will need to have achieved a Distinction Merit Profile on a Level 3 Diploma Course, or a MMP Profile on a Level 3 Extended Diploma Course the equivalent to 80 UCAS points.

You will attend college at our Peter Paine Performance Centre for 2 days per week for 1 year. There will be a requirement for independent study in your own time on top of the 2 days you will be in college.

Pearson HNC Community Coaching will cost you Β£7100.

You can apply for a student loan to cover the costs of course fees. You may also be able to apply for various grants and loans to support your learning. The Community Coaching HNC is assessed entirely via internal assessments. This includes a mixture of observations, presentations and coursework.

Completion of the Community Coaching HNC can lead onto a range of top up courses that will award the learner with a degree upon completion, including BSc Sport Fitness and Wellbeing here at Boston College.
