The Level 2 Leadership and Team Skills ILM Certificate has been designed for new and aspiring team leaders. It gives an in-depth introduction to the role and responsibilities of a team leader. You will gain a better understanding of how to lead a team successfully and how to use motivation techniques to get the best from people. You will gain the confidence to tackle difficult issues, like underperformance and be given the tools to develop as a leader.

Employers will gain team leaders who are equipped with the skills they need to perform and who are competent to manage people and relationships. Employees will be better able to communicate and collaborate in teams and will be encouraged to develop as professionals and individuals.

What will I do?

During the Level 2 Leadership and Team Skills ILM Certificate you will cover the following topics:

  • Leading your work team
  • Improving performance of a team
  • Understanding change
  • Setting team objectives
  • Awareness of waste management
  • Health and Safety practices
  • Customer needs
  • Communication

You will be given the opportunity to register for the ILM certificate or a Boston College Certificate of Achievement - this will depend upon initial screening and consultation with a tutor.

The entry qualifications for the Level 2 Leadership and Team Skills ILM Certificate are a good understanding of written and spoken English. You will ideally be working in a team leading role or with some supervisory responsibility. This may be in a paid or voluntary capacity.

The Level 2 Leadership and Team Skills ILM Certificate will take one session per week over the course of 8 sessions.

The Level 2 Leadership and Team Skills ILM Certificate will cost £519 per person.

The Leadership and Team Skills ILM Certificate is a theory based and is assessed through independently written assignments. There may be an element of group work and group presentations which will be used in the assessment process.

Enhanced employment opportunities and career progression within a supervisory/management role. Progression on to the Leadership and Management ILM Certificate Level 3.
