Add to ShortlistThe aim of this unit is to develop your knowledge and understanding of the challenges, risks and responsibilities of running a hair and beauty business. You will learn about the skills and abilities needed to run a business, as well as regulatory and legislative requirements for running a salon business.
What will I do?
Completing this course will equip you with 5 key skills that will aid you in running a hair and beauty business:
- Be able to reflect on own interest in starting a hair and beauty business
- Know the knowledge and skills required to be a successful entrepreneur in the hair and beauty industryBe able to assess own auditability to setting up and running a hair and beauty business
- Understand the risks involved in setting up a hair and beauty business
- Know how to adhere to legislation and regulations, and get information, help and advice when planning to set up a hair and beauty business

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
Attendance
Preparing to Run a Hair and Beauty Business Award Level 2 will take you 6 hours to complete over 1 session. This course is studied online via our online learning platform and is available to start at a date and time to suit your needs.
Fees
Level 2 Award in Preparing to run a hair and beauty business may be fully funded by the Adult Education Budget should you be eligible under the following criteria:.
- Be aged 19 or older on the 31st August at the start of the current academic year
- Be either unemployed and receiving JSA, ESA or Universal Credit (subject to criteria) OR be earning less than £20,319 (annual gross salary) a year
If you do not meet the above criteria, this course will cost you a total of £120. This consists of £98 tuition and £22 exam fees.
How Will I Be Assessed
This course is complete online, where you will undertake an online assessment on the day.
Where Could It Lead?
Completion of this course will equip the learner with the skill needed to apply their learning to their career. There are also opportunities to progress onto further education at the College/
