The Education Studies BA (Hons) Top-up Level 6 is awarded by the University of Derby and is designed to provide an excellent progression route and develop the knowledge you've already gained on your HND or Foundation Degree in learning support/education or early childhood, with a further stage of study which results in a full honours degree.
Throughout this course, you will learn the essential skills and best practices for working within the education sector, including early years, schools, and further education.
As a University of Derby partner student, you will have access to the university’s virtual learning environment, including University of Derby Online (UDO) and online journals and texts, as well as library facilities.
During your year of studying the Education Studies BA (Hons) Top-up Level 6, you will cover a variety of modules.

It is also recommended that you undertake a study placement, if you are not employed or volunteering in an appropriate education setting. You will need to make you own arrangement securing a placement and undertaking the relevant procedures that are required by the organisation. This would include a DBS check, which you might be required to pay for.

All applications are subject to approval by the University of Derby (UoD). In order for the University to approve your application we are required to share your personal information. This includes sharing the application form that you have completed to study this course, and in some instances, copies of your maths, English and highest-level qualification certificate.
You will attend college every Wednesday from 1:00pm - 8:00pm for one year, plus a substantial amount of independent study.
The Education Studies BA (Hons) Top-up Level 6 will cost £7600.

You will be assessed via coursework, such as essays, case studies and independent study. There is no final examination.
Completion of this course could lead onto further academic study of a Masters Degree or employment within the sector.
