Boston College have teamed up with Google delivery partner, Upskill Digital, to provide a programme of hands-on training courses to help local business owners and managers maximise their reach through digital marketing.

We cover all the principles of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and help you get the most of your web analytics data to start turning your website hits into qualified new customers. Courses are delivered in College IT suites but for best results; bring your own laptop to put your skills into action immediately.

What will I do?

The Digital Marketing course has two units available to study. These include:

Improve your ranking on Google and be found locally (SEO) (90 minutes)

This is a beginners course and you need no previous technical or SEO experience to attend.

Learn about SEO and how it can improve your business. You'll learn to audit, optimise and report on SEO, whether it's for a new career or to upskill yourself. This course covers practical and proven techniques which will help you boost your position in search results and will improve your website profile and visitor numbers. This training will help you to claim your online Google My Business listing and improve your digital visibility locally.

  • Establishing your Business' Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • On-site optimisation, helping Google to understand your page
  • Keyword research, key phrase planning and strategy
  • Introduction to Google My Business
  • Updating your basic information (NAPO)

Web Analytics (90 minutes)

Our fun, hands-on Google Analytics training will help you get the most out of your web analytics data. Using your data we will teach you the practical skills needed to monitor and learn from your digital marketing and online presence. At the end of the course you should have a good idea of how the back end of Google Analytics works, and a solid understanding of how to track key user engagements.

  • Introduction to web analytics
  • Setting up Google analytics
  • Set up Goals and Funnels to help achieve business goals
  • Create tailored dashboards and practical reports
  • Track macro and micro interactions that take place on your website

There are no formal entry qualifications for the Digital Marketing course.

Each Digital Marketing unit will take you 90 minutes to complete.

The next set of start dates will be announced shortly.

Each Digital Marketing unit will cost £60 individually or £95 to attend both units in the same morning.
