The Computing National Diploma Level 3 will be studied over two years. During your first year you will enrol on and study the Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Computing. This is a standalone one-year qualification. Upon successful completion of the first year, you can then progress and enrol to study the Level 3 National Diploma in Computing, which is equivalent to two A levels.
You will study with highly motivated and supportive team in our new DTLA building with full access to our computer suites. This course will provide you with skills to be able to progress into a range of computing related careers or continue to Foundation HE programmes.
During your first year you will study the Level 3 Computing Extended Certificate that will provide a comprehensive yet broad understanding of Computing. The structure of the programme provides an innovative and creative curriculum covering the core subject areas within IT.

You will also cover Robotics Fundamentals as part of this course.
The academic year is divided into two semesters and students will be expected to complete at least 3 units each semester.
In addition to your course, you may also study either GCSE English and Maths, dependent on your current GCSE grade. Guest speakers and trips are run throughout the course.
The Computing National Diploma is free for those who are under 19 on 31 August of the year they start their course.
For those aged 19+, this course will cost: Β£5421.
Year 1, National Extended Certificate in Computing - Β£2583.
Year 2, National Diploma in Computing - Β£2838.

Aged 19+?
If you are aged 19 years or over on the 1st day of your course, you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with your College fees. If you progress to employment you won't have to pay anything back until youβre earning Β£27,295 per year. Your household income isn't taken into account and there's no credit check. Please note, to provide you with the most flexibility your studies will consist of two separate years, each enrolled onto separately. Therefore, if you are aged 19+ before starting either year of the full qualification you will be required to pay course fees.

The Computing National Diploma is highly valued by employers and can lead to careers in the Computing sector as trainee programmers, systems analysts, web designers and network and IT technicians.
The National Diploma is also a recognised route on to higher apprenticeships or HNC/HND courses in Computing.
