Automotive Maintenance Award Level 1
Add to ShortlistThe Level 1 Award in Automotive Maintenance is designed for those with an interest in gaining the knowledge and skills to work safely and carry out routine maintenance activities on vehicles. You will learn about maintenance associated with vehicles and machinery used in the automotive sector, such as light vehicles, motorcycles, and garden machinery.
What will I do?
During this course, you will develop the knowledge and skills required to work safely on vehicles whilst carrying out routine maintenance and repair activities. This may include vehicles that may have or had damage to their high energy/electrical system.
You will cover a range of topics, including:
- Health and Safety in the Workplace
- Tools, Equipment and Consumable Materials for Vehicle Maintenance
- Steering and Suspension Components
- Braking Systems
- Wheels and Tyres
- Lubrication System Maintenance
Entry Qualifications
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however an interest in the subject area is desirable.
Attendance
The Automotive Maintenance Award Level 1 will take you 10 weeks to complete. You will attend college for 1 evening per week (Wednesdays) at our Rochford Campus in Boston.
Fees
This course may be fully funded by the Adult Education Budget should you be eligible under the following criteria:
- Be aged 19+ on the 31st August at the start of the current academic year
- Be either unemployed and receiving JSA, ESA or Universal Credit (subject to criteria) OR be earning less than Β£25,000 (annual gross salary) a year
If you do not qualify for the Adult Educational Budget, this course will cost you Β£250 + an exam fee of Β£28.
Please note that all fees are subject to change.
How Will I Be Assessed
You will be assessed via practical assessments and an online exam.
Where Could It Lead?
Successful completion of this course could lead onto other Automotive Technologies courses, including the Automotive Maintenance Certificate Level 1.
