I studied Computing Level 3 at Boston College and I really enjoyed it. Having done my A levels already at school, I found that the style of learning on the Diploma at College was more suitable for me. It was much more hands on with practical work, and assignments rather than exams.
After my Level 3 I didn’t want to go to University as I felt too anxious, so the HND at Boston College enabled me to achieve the first two years of a degree without going anywhere. If it wasn’t for the course being available to progress onto I definitely wouldn’t have gone on to achieve my degree. Some of my friends from the HND course went to the same University as me for their final year, which helped, and because I had achieved two thirds of a degree, my family encouraged me to progress on to University and complete my final year to achieve my degree in Computer Science.
I’m now working as a Graduate Computing Lecturer and studying for my PGCE one day a week at Nottingham Trent University.
