National Apprenticeship Week 2023

It's National Apprenticeship Week #NAW2023To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week 2023, Boston College is holding a number of events and activities designed to highlight apprenticeships and the variety of career opportunities they can lead onto. The celebration of apprenticeships will also showcase the impact they can have on communities, local businesses, and regional economies and how they all benefit from the impact of apprenticeships.

This year’s National Apprenticeship Week runs from Monday 6th February until Sunday 12th February, with the theme of ‘Skills for Life’, encouraging everyone to consider how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career, and employers to develop a workforce with future ready skills. The national campaign brings together everyone passionate about apprenticeships to celebrate the value, benefit, and opportunity that they bring.

Boston College will kick off the week with a visit from the NHS Talent Academy, who will share their knowledge and expertise on Medical and Health and Social Care Apprenticeships. Followed on Tuesday by Amazing Apprenticeships, who will be holding an awareness assembly, introducing apprenticeship to learners, and explaining the range of careers options available. The British Army will also be in College on Tuesday, introducing the wide selection of apprenticeships available within the forces.

Amazing Apprenticeships will be in college again on Wednesday holding mock assessment workshops to help learners looking to pursue an apprenticeship, by preparing them for the assessment phase of their applications.

The College will then round off the week’s events with a ‘Meet the Employers’ Day on Wednesday. A variety of local employers have been invited into the College to speak to learners about being an apprentice and the opportunities within their sector and business. Business attending include; Energie Fitness, Butlins, Coveris and Lincolnshire County Council, to name a few.

The week’s events have been organised alongside LincHigher. For more information on apprenticeships, visit the ‘Apprenticeships’ section.
