The Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance Award (IQA) is part of the TAQA framework of qualifications and designed for practitioners who conduct internal quality assurance of the assessment process from within a centre, and wish to gain a recognised qualification.
The course has been developed for those working in accredited learning, non-accredited learning, the NQF and the QCF.
During the Level 4 Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance Award (IQA) you will study the two below units:
You will attend an induction workshop for your course and undertake a series of meetings and reviews with your portfolio assessor in order to plan the collection of your evidence and compile your portfolio. There will also be an observation of you monitoring assessors within your workplace.
In addition to your course, you may also study either Functional Skills or GCSE English and Maths, dependent on your current GCSE grade.
The Assessing Vocational Achievement Certificate will take you 18 months to complete and is accomplished in the workplace.
You will initially attend college at our Boston Campus (Rochford) on Monday 30th June 2025 for a 6 hour session. You will then complete a series of observations and assessments throughout the duration of the course, dates and times of which will be agreed at the initial session.
The Internal Quality Assurance Award (IQA) will cost £752.

Aged 19+?
If you are aged 19 years or over on the 1st day of your course, you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with your College fees. If you progress to employment you won't have to pay anything back until you’re earning £25,000 per year. Your household income isn't taken into account and there's no credit check. You will be observed monitoring and feeding back to assessors on their practice and CPD opportunities. You will also hold a professional discussion with your assessor with regard to the quality assurance of the assessment process.
In order to complete, the knowledge aspect of the award there will be 12 questions to research and complete. Over the period of the course you will build up a portfolio of evidence to show that you have monitored and quality assured the work of two assessors.
