The Entry Level Skills for Working in Health, Lifestyle and Science Industries Certificate is designed for individuals to actively improve their health and wellbeing whilst studying at home.

You will have access to three Workbooks, covering Physical Activity, Nutrition and Stress Management which will be supported by high quality resources with a focus on personal development. Workbooks focus on setting personal targets, logging planned lifestyle changes and evaluating the improvements made.

Once enrolled on the course you will be assigned a course tutor who can support you, via email, with your individual journey to a healthier you.

What will I do?

At a self-paced rate, you will engage in healthy living and learn about how to achieve it.

You will start getting active and identify your health goals. Plan a three-week exercise/activity plan and see how far you have progressed during this time.

You will then look at the importance of correct nutrition, healthy eating and hydration. Alongside this, learning about weight management, body composition and pitfalls such as fad diets and food labels. You will then plan and implement a three-week health eating programme and review your progress.

Finally, you will identify what stress is and its effects on our health, learning how to recognise the causes, signs and symptoms of stress and the strategies to manage it. You will devise a stress management action plan personal to you, your job, your lifestyle and review how well it has worked.

There are no formal entry qualifications for the Entry Level Skills for Working in Health, Lifestyle and Science Industries Certificate.

The Skills for Working in Health, Lifestyle and Science Industries Certificate is studied through distance learning and can be done at home or at work.

The qualification can be completed ahead of schedule but usually takes around 10-13 weeks with 3-5 hours dedicated per week.

There are no formal entry requirements however; you must be aged 19+.

Upon completion of this course you could progress onto a Level 1 or 2 Gym Instruction qualification.
