Plumbing Diploma Level 2
Add to ShortlistThe Level 2 Plumbing Diploma provides you with enhanced skills and knowledge required for a career in the Plumbing industry.
You will study a number of practical units covering areas such as hot and cold water systems, sanitation, central heating, and drainage.
You will learn skills though practical assessment in our on-site workshop that is built to provide you with a realistic working environment to effectively prepare you for industry.
What will I do?
You will study a number of topics that are required by a plumbing professional working in the trade.
These include:
- Health and Safety in building services engineering
- Electrical principles and processes for building services engineering
- Common plumbing processes
- Cold water systems
- Domestic hot water systems
- Sanitation
- Central Heating systems
- Drainage systems
- How to communicate with others within building services engineering
- Scientific principles for domestic, industrial and commercial plumbing
If you have a Grade 2 or below in English or maths, you can study towards either a PASS in Functional Skills Level 2 or a GCSE grade 4-9. Once you have achieved either qualification, you will not be required to undertake any further English or maths.
Full time 16-19 learner with a Grade 3, must study towards a GCSE grade 4-9.
Entry Qualifications
The entry qualifications for the Level 2 Plumbing Diploma are three GCSEs at grades 4 or above (Old GCSE grade C or above) including Maths, English and Science along with completion of a Level 1 plumbing task at an assessment day or a relevant Level 1 vocational qualification.
Attendance
The Plumbing Diploma will take you one year to complete. You will attend College for up to four days a week.
Fees
The Plumbing Diploma is free, if you are under the age of 19 on 31 August of the year you start the course.
If you are aged 19+, this course will cost £1200
If full course payment is made on the first day of the course a discount may apply.

How Will I Be Assessed
There are externally set multiple choice examinations and various practical assessments. You will carry out assignments in the classroom and practical assessments in the workshop.
Where Could It Lead?
Successful completion of the Plumbing Diploma could lead to further training by undertaking a Level 3 qualification or an Advanced Apprenticeship.
